The Drive Home Because bad weather cancelled our flight, we hired an absurdly large "coaster" with an Austrian couple and followed the Indus River back to Islamabad. |

|
We really liked our driver (his "co-pilot is above) and we marveled at his intrepid-yet-relatively-safe driving under very unsafe conditions. At one point the road was totally blocked by a terrific wind storm. While the other drivers stopped to wait it out, our guy ran out and cleared the road of debris. This was quite daring because lethal rocks were tumbling down as he did it. |

Cable Car One of the more interesting things we saw on the trip home was this cable car. Many of the villages were divided from each other by deep gorges so, besides bridges, we saw several cable cars. |

|
Like the irrigation system and the suspension bridges, I found these cable cars a marvel of appropriate technology although not marvelous enough to accept their offer for a ride. |

Thanks for joining me on this travelogue. I'm impressed that you have stayed with it this far! If you are interested in adventure off the beaten path, Hunza is a good one to consider. |
